PHOTOS TAKEN ON THE DOWNS EARLY IN THE MORNING.
One of the things I have noticed is that I can shoot into the sun. Also the quality of light is etherial when the mist hangs in the morning air. Things that look like trees become weird shapes and distance is confused. Far away looks close, and the gradation of light creates now forms and landscapes. You only have to photograph in the fog to see that light is everything, take it away in gradations and you have not darkness, but magic. This is joy of being up here when the larks are singing and the world of London has no idea what is going on here in Epsom. It is a secret world of horse training, the music is the sound of hoofbeats, the laughter and conversations of lads and lassies, the chatter of trainers and the of the banter of the downs keepers.
